This place is an all-time top hole-in-the-wall. We’ve been multiple times and are consistently shocked at how authentic and delicious their southern barbecue menu is. We’ve never had a bad meal, the price is right, and a little spoken fact about this place is that their french fries are the best in New England. Go, Just go.— Family/EK
Hidden away in the outskirts of Rowley is a little place that offers true wood-smoked BBQ meals that do more than whet your appetite. The food is so tasty and moist that it feels like it melts in your mouth. They make everything on the premises in what they call a southern style BBQ. All meals come with two sides and a good size piece of corn bread. My wife’s hamburger with homemade chips was excellent. I had the grilled tenderloin tips that were the best I’ve ever tasted. The place has a friendly atmosphere and it is worth paying a visit just for their great corn bread alone.— Tar7
This is good, solid, high-quality, large portioned, delicious, authentic BBQ. The food is all cooked perfectly, seasoned and sauced to perfection. They have a great selection, awesome meats and sides. This is good BBQ!— Sara S.
With a menu and ordering process (walk up to counter, order and pay, and they deliver to your table). similar to the Blue Ribbon BBQ in Arlington, the American BBQ in Rowley is where local residents come to get Memphis ribs, pulled pork and chicken sandwiches, steak and fish platters, and good times. There is a self-serve Pepsi fountain and they stock assorted beers and wines. I ordered a combo plate of Memphis ribs and pulled chicken, both of which were delicious, and two sides of rice pilaf (good) and southern greens. – Ari H.
